Convicted murderer Mark Bridger, who was jailed for kidnapping and killing five-year-old April Jones, is appealing his sentence, her parents have revealed.
Bridger, 47, was sent to prison for life in May after being found guilty of April’s murder, but her family has said the ‘torment’ is continuing with an initial plea hearing penned for next month.
It is not known whether Bridger will ask the Court of Appeal to overturn his sentence or conviction.
Speaking to The Sun (£), April’s parents Coral and Paul Jones expressed their ‘disgust’ at Bridger’s attempt to reduce or quash the judgement given to him.

Coral said: ‘He’s in prison where he belongs and he should stay there. He’s just torturing my family with these legal battles.
‘He’s already tried to claim compensation for a prison attack, now he’s launched this appeal.
‘It’s like he’s taunting us, like he wants to show he’s got the upper hand. He’s put us through so much.’
The largest search operation in British history took place in October last year when April suddenly disappeared while playing near her home in Powys, north Wales.
She was last seen getting into Bridger’s vehicle but her body has never been found.
