The Mindy Project won’t be returning to Fox next season after the network decided not to renew the series.
The TV show created by and starring Mindy Kaling centred on an OBGYN office in New York and the comical goings on in the practice.
Fox was celebrated for syndicating a show built around an average-sized Indian woman rather than a slew of generic white male leads.
But after the ratings of the show dropped by two million in the third series, it looks like ratings unsurprisingly will always be more important than diversity.
Needless to say, a whole load of Mindy Project fans are pretty peeved.
Fox has cancelled #TheMindyProject and I am beyond pissed!

Mindy did share a cryptic tweet and Instagram video, asking ‘Hey guys, I’m in Montana, is anything happening in LA? #themindyproject’.
She gives a wink and a smile at the end of the clip, which could mean The Mindy Project isn’t over.
Streaming service Hulu is reportedly in talks with Universal Television to shift the comedy over for the next few seasons, so Mindy fans don’t lock yourself away in mourning just yet!
