Tottenham are in talks with Palermo over the signing of €25 million-rated attacker Franco Vazquez, the club’s president, Maurizio Zamparini, has confirmed.
The north Londoners have been linked with the Argentine-born Italian previously as Mauricio Pochettino bids to get his squad ready for Champions League football next season.
And now Palermo have confirmed that Spurs have made contact regarding the 27-year-old, though Zamparini is determined to get a big price for his star player.
‘I am in contact with Tottenham Hotspur for Franco Vazquez and I requested €25 million for him,’ he is quoted in the Italian media.

‘I received some lower offers for Vazquez but he is worth as much as Domenico Berardi.
‘Franco Vazquez would be great wherever, he is so underrated and I do not know why.
‘He’d be good at Leicester, Milan and Roma were interested but if I see Berardi going for €25 million then I’d take Vazquez.’
Vazquez had an excellent campaign in an otherwise disappointing season for Palermo, scoring eight goals and assisting a further seven in his 36 Serie A appearances.
