Promising Liverpool youngster Joao Teixeira has rejected a new contract at the club and instead signed for European giants Porto on a four-year deal.
The 23-year-old, who arrived at Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon in 2012, made just seven appearances under Jurgen Klopp last season and struggled to make an impact.
Despite his lack of pitch time, the Merseysiders offered him a new contract with his current deal expiring this summer, but he has opted to return to Portugal instead.

‘I am very happy,’ Teixeira told Porto’s official website. ’It’s a dream for me to play at this great club.
‘I have aspired to wear this shirt because I was used to seeing FC Porto win over the years. I hope everything goes well and I want to give my best.’
Teixeira played just three minutes of Premier League football in his final season at Anfield and will be hoping for a bigger role at Porto, where his first task will be breaking Benfica’s dominance.
