A 15 year-old girl searched for ‘scary movies where kids kill parents’ on her phone before murdering her own parents, court documents claim.
Daejona Holmes is said to have shot mom Kinderly Holmes twice, 37, and father Brian Starr, 38, three times, killing both at their home in Kansas City, Mo., in April, shortly after searching the term.
Holmes, who was charged Monday, is accused of telling 911 dispatchers that her parents had been shot by robbers, but changed her story when apprehended by cops at a fast food restaurant after the shooting.

The teenager – who is also said to have listened to rap music about wanting her dad dead – told officers that her father had shot her mother, prompting her to shoot him, it is claimed.
According to KMBC, cops found drawing of stick figures in Jones’ backpack, with one labeled ‘me’ shooting another figure labeled ‘dad’.
The murder suspect, who is being tried as an adult on two counts of second-degree murder, allegedly told police that she was in her room when she heard her parents arguing.
Holmes is then said to have claimed she heard a gunshot, which prompted her to go downstairs and find her mom dead with a handgun next to her.
She said that she grabbed that gun and shot her father as he walked towards her, it is claimed.
Holmes then fled to the fast food restaurant, and reportedly told police that she tossed the murder weapon in a neighbor’s yard while en route.

Asked why she had initially claimed her parents had been killed by a robber, Holmes is said to have told police she made up that excuse because she was scared.

After the killings, detectives found a video on Holmes phone, recorded two months previously, that showed her dancing in her room while holding a handgun.
LJ Brackson, who was Daejona’s uncle, claimed his niece and her mother had both been abused by Starr.
He told Fox4: ‘Now my sister-in-law is dead, who was also a victim of the abuse, and now my niece is being charged with her and her father’s murders. That’s gut-wrenching.

Call data allegedly shows Holmes made several calls to a friend before dialing 911 to seek assistance for her parents.
That friend is said to have joined Holmes at the restaurant, and persuaded her to call emergency services.
Holmes has also been charged with two counts of armed criminal action as well as with tampering with physical evidence.
Prosecutors have asked that she be held on $150,000 bond.
