Sarah Michelle Gellar’s kids have started watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer – so who’s feeling old?
The actress has revealed that the children she shares with her husband Freddie Prinze Junior – Charlotte, 10 and Rocky, eight – started binge watching the show during quarantine.
‘We just started. I had never thought to show it to them,’ Sarah explained on the Kelly Clarkson show.
‘They asked during quarantine, we were trying to find shows to binge, and I was like OK I didn’t even know if they’d be into it, but they are like so into it.’
She went on to joke that the kids are so into the show, they’re disappointed she can’t remember specific parts from filming.
‘They’ll always ask questions and I’ll be like “I don’t remember I’ll have to text someone and ask,”‘ she said, before adding: ‘My son actually thinks that I’m cool now.’
Surely that’s a win in anyone’s books.
Sarah starred as the slayer for all 144 episodes of the show, from 1997 to 2003. It was a hit and, even years later, is still enthralling new generations of viewers.
Meanwhile, Sarah hasn’t fully left her past as a vampire slayer behind her, as she was fully ready to have our backs when the coronavirus pandemic began.
In March, the star took to Instagram to show off that she’d been reunited with her trusty stake, which she wielded for a casual photo.
‘Hmmmm…….. found this on my walk today,’ she told her followers. And it didn’t take long for her co-stars and fans alike to comment below – making all the references to the iconic series.

Before finding the stake, the mother-of-two had addressed the coronavirus outbreak in her stories where she joked about the apocalypse.
‘If the apocalypse comes, beep me’ she wrote alongside a picture of herself in the vampire saga holding up a pager.
