The Vampire Diaries stars Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley have proven they really are best buds after all, as they hit the slopes together for a cute double date with their partners.
Nina, 32, and Paul, 38, starred alongside each other in the teen vampire series for six seasons, playing each other’s love interest as the show followed Elena Gilbert (Nina) and her complicated love triangle with the Salvatore brothers – Stefan (Paul) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder).
In 2019, Nina let slip that she and Paul never used to get along when they first started filming for the show in Vancouver and that people took their dislike for each other as really good onscreen chemistry.
Fast forward many years, though, and as the pair got to know each other, they realised they soon got along and actually went on to become best friends.
So much so, that they’re now double dating on a skiing trip in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Nina shared a snap of herself and Paul rocking their ski gear and cosying up on the ski lift with their partners. Nina is dating Olympic snowboarder Shawn White, while Paul is married to wife Ines de Ramon.
‘Sometimes you gotta double down,’ she captioned her photo, before going on to share plenty more snaps of herself and Paul to her Instagram story.
Vampire Diaries fans were loving the reunion, with many branding the pair ‘iconic’.
‘Paul and Nina being iconic since 2009😭,’ commented one fan, while another said: ‘YEAAAHAHAHHAHAHAHH NINA AND PAUL HAHAHAHA YESSSSSSSSS ICONIC DUO.’
‘DOBSLEY REUNION,’ one fan affectionately posted, while one more seemed to be still shipping the pair’s onscreen characters, as they wrote: ‘Omg stelena perferct 😍😍😍🤤🤤🤤.’

The reunion proves that Nina and Paul’s past feud is clearly all water under the bridge.
In fact, Nina had set the record straight after her comments about ‘despising’ Paul were picked up following her appearance on her former co-star Candice King’s podcast Directionally Challenged.
Nina had said: ‘Paul and I didn’t get along at the beginning of the show,’ Nina said. ‘I respected Paul Wesley. I didn’t like Paul Wesley.
‘Everyone thought that we had such good chemistry from the show… I realise now that there’s a fine line between love and hate, and we despised each other so much that it read as love, but we really just didn’t get along for the first five months of shooting.’

Reflecting on her comments, Nina insisted they had been ‘blown out of proportion’, as she later explained during a TV appearance: ‘I was talking about all of the wonderful things that I love about Paul Wesley at the time and had been referring to only a very brief moment in time [when] we did not get along.’
‘Just like any human wouldn’t. If you said that you and your parents have loved each other unconditionally and your siblings from the moment you were born until the day that you die, you’d be a f**king liar,’ Nina joked.
Still, her comments will no doubt have Vampire Diaries fans flocking to watch the show’s first season to pick up on all that tension.
