Emmerdale spoilers: Jacob is haunted by Maya’s sex abuse of him

Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren-Plant) has been left broken following the calculated and manipulative grooming of sex abuser teacher Maya, who was later jailed for what she had done in Emmerdale.

Jacob thought he had fallen for Maya and for many months, including after she was caught and exposed, he believed that they had a future and that they were the real deal.

The demons of the aftermath of the damaging teenage years he faced, David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) has been left deeply troubled for his welfare.

When Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) wants to move in, David is forced to reject it as he needs time for Jacob to reply before inviting another woman into his home.

Jacob has also been pushing away girlfriend Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger) and when she mentions that she developed a crush on Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle), he flies off the handle and accuses Billy of being like Maya.

As Billy is left angered by Jacob’s insinuations that he is a paedophile, it’s clear that Maya still is having an impact on Jacob’s life.

Later, Leanna reaches out to him and suggests they give their relationship another try but Jacob defiantly rejects her, despite it being clear that he still loves her.
