The past year has been full of plenty of showstopping TV, from Vigil captivating viewers to Line of Duty’s sixth season setting tongues wagging across the nation, not to mention The Girl Before beginning this weekend.
However, there’s plenty more excitement to come in the new year, with BBC Drama unveiling a brand new trailer for all the action coming in 2022, including a first look at the highly-anticipated adaptation of Conversations With Friends.
Several shows are set to return, with Killing Eve coming back for its fourth deadly season and Peaky Blinders for its sixth and final season, with Tommy Shelby actor Cillian Murphy in tow.
Noughts and Crosses, based on the Malorie Blackman novel series of the same name, was also renewed for season two, with a brand new image unveiled of Masali Baduza and Jack Rowan reprising their roles as star-crossed lovers Sephy and Callum.
In 2020, Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar Jones brought TV viewers to their knees with their portrayals of Connell and Marianne in the adaptation of Sally Rooney’s beloved novel Normal People.
Conversations With Friends is another book by the Irish author that’s now been adapted for the small screen, starring Alison Oliver, Sasha Lane, Joe Alwyn and Jemima Kirke as the four leads.

In a new first look picture, Alison can be seen in character as Frances, donning a black polo neck with a leather jacket and her hair tied back in a loose ponytail.
The series follows college friends Frances and Bobbi (Sasha Lane) as they forge an unexpected connection with a married couple, Nick (Joe) and Melissa (Jemima).
Another drama coming to the BBC is This Is Going To Hurt, based on the acclaimed novel by Adam Kay about his experiences as a doctor in the NHS, with Ben Whishaw seen in a first glimpse wearing the character’s scrubs.

The Responder will also follow a protagonist on the frontline in the UK, with Martin Freeman playing former police officer Tony Schumacher.
The character is seen in distress in the channel’s teaser for upcoming dramas in 2022, screaming while sitting in his car.
The first look images for the adaptation of the novel Life After Life are now out, with Jojo Rabbit star Thomasin McKenzie playing the role of Ursula and Fleabag actor Sian Clifford cast as her mother, Sylvie.

Piers Wenger, Director of BBC Drama, explained how TV is continuing to play even more of a pivotal role in people’s lives as the Covid pandemic goes on.
