Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) is adamant that it’s time Mack and Mia knew the truth about their dad Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) in Tuesday’s (March 15) visit to EastEnders.
Gray’s reign of terror came to a thunderous end last week, after he was accused of murdering Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White).
The killer attempted to get out of the Square, but following a showdown with Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) on the bridge, he was finally apprehended by the police.
His actions have sent shockwaves through the Square, with several families struggling to come to terms with the loss of their loved ones, who died at Gray’s hands.
Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) has been particularly struggling, given that she only just found out that Gray was responsible for the death of daughter Chantelle (Jessica Plummer).
Mitch, meanwhile, has been doing all he can to support her in the wake of the revelation, and the above clip – taken from Tuesday’s edition of the BBC One soap – sees him return from dropping grandchildren Mack and Mia at school.
‘Funny how people stopped chatting as soon as we showed up’, he said, discussing the school run.
‘No prizes to guess what they were talking about.’
Karen insists that keeping the kids off school is the best course of action, but Mitch reminds her that Mack and Mia will soon start ‘hearing things’, and hints that they should tell them the truth before they hear it from someone else.

‘It’s Mack’s birthday!’, exclaims Karen, thinking it wouldn’t be appropriate to spoil the child’s big day.
Mitch, however, disagrees, reminding Karen that the truth will come as a blow to the kids no matter what day they hear it.
‘We need to sit them down and tell them everything!’, he concludes.
Will Karen agree? Will the duo follow through?
