Ken Barlow (William Roache) and Wendy Crozier’s (Roberta Kerr) relationship is a bit complicated in Coronation Street.
We know that years ago, Ken had an affair with Wendy behind Deirdre’s (Anne Kirkbride) back and broke her heart.
Now, with Wendy back in the soap, they’ve decided to leave the past in the past and start their friendship again.
It’s led to some lovely scenes between the pair, as they connected over the fact they had both lost their respective partners and have enjoyed rehearsing for Mary’s (Patti Clare) amateur dramatics show.
Coming up, Mary really embraces the ‘dramatic’ part of their upcoming play and tells Brian (Peter Gunn) she’s on the verge of quitting.
When Ken finds out, he steps in and asks Nigel to work with Wendy on her monologue, leaving her a bit disappointed by the apparent snub.
After spending time with Wendy, Nigel tells Ken that he would quite like to ask Wendy out himself and Ken tells him to go for it!
This leaves Wendy (and us) confused and wonders if Ken may not have feelings for her after all if he encouraged Nigel to ask her out.
