We’re still recovering after last night’s devastating episode of Emmerdale and to be honest, so are the fans.
Tuesday’s cliff-hanger of the special episodes – celebrating the soap’s 50th anniversary – saw Liv (Isobel Steele) and Vinny (Bradley Johnson) crushed by a caravan that had been picked up in the relentless wind.
While Vinny was able to get free, Liv was crushed by the vehicle.
As paramedics arrived, Emmerdale residents cleared the roads, while Liv’s family waited for news on her condition. Unfortunately, there was nothing paramedics could do except make her comfortable.
Due to the way the caravan had crushed her lower body, any attempt to move it or Liv would result in her death.
It was left to Paddy (Dominic Brunt) to deliver the heartbreaking news to Vinny, Mandy (Lisa Riley) and Aaron (Danny Miller).
The concluding scenes of the episode saw Vinny talk to Liv about their future together, but she knew that wouldn’t happen and, moments later, she died.
Brb, crying again.
Liv’s death came after the news Isobel Steele would be leaving the role but even so, that didn’t make the scenes any less emotional.
‘Liv’s death is one of the most heartbreaking soap deaths!’, one fan wrote on Twitter.
Another emotional Emmerdale fan said: ‘Just switched over to Emmerdale and can’t believe they have just killed Liv off. In pieces and can we just talk about the acting from both Danny and Isobel’.
Many Emmerdale fans praised Isobel for her final performance as Liv, with one person writing: ‘Isobel Steele playing Liv has been amazing…she’s only 21 so great things ahead for her’, and another saying: ‘Not Liv and one of the finest young actors Isobel Steele. I hope she goes on to do great things’.
