Forget Valentine’s Day – let’s be honest, the most important day to be celebrated in February is Pancake Day.
And we’re pleased to see London has entered the spirit of things by rebranding one of its stations for Shrove Tuesday.
St Pancras International has been renamed ‘London St Pancake’ by operator Southeastern Railway, as it has also done in recent years.
A picture on the company’s Twitter account shows four trains being listed as heading towards the ‘London St Pancake’ from Sandwich station in Kent.
It captioned the snap: ‘Spring is definitely in the air… now, what’s for breakfast? #LondonStPancake.’
Those using the service loved it and some even weighed in with suggestions of their own.
One said: ‘Will we get charring [sic] hot cross bun at Easter?’

A commuter commented: ‘I look forward to this sign every year. It’s a little bit of silliness which makes me smile.’
‘Haha love it guys, I enjoy hearing and seeing about this station every year,’ another echoed.
Someone else couldn’t resist getting in on the puns, adding: ‘Well that crêped up on me…’

Others couldn’t resist joking it was a Photoshop job due to all services being listed as ‘on time’.

‘Wow, look at all of the frequent, on-time trains displayed on that board. Surely this is not a real Southeastern departure board?!’ someone wrote.
