Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) and Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) have been best friends for a while now in Coronation Street.
The youngsters connected when Sam was grieving after the death of his mum, Natasha, who was shot by Harvey (Will Mellor).
When Sam was experiencing mutism as a result of the trauma, it was Hope who ultimately got him talking again, communicating through walkie-talkies and in separate rooms so Sam didn’t become overwhelmed with people’s responses and reactions to what he was saying.
Since then, the pals have grown close, going to school together and recently, Sam even helped Hope out with her revenge plan after Cilla the Chinchilla’s death.
As Sam and Hope spend more time together, next week sees a sweet development as, in the café, they agree they’re now boyfriend and girlfriend.
This comes after Corrie boss Iain MacLeod’s comments that the soap will now be focusing on the challenges Hope faces as she enters her pre-teen years, rather than the more villainous side to her.
