Stranger Things actor Caleb McLaughlin has said he has one big request ahead of the hit sci-fi series’ fifth and final season.
McLaughlin, 21, has played Lucas Sinclair on the Netflix hit ever since its first episode in 2016, initially helping to bring Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) back home.
Lucas has grown particularly close to fan-favourite Max (Sadie Sink), with the pair facing down villain Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) last season.
Now, with what’s expected to be an almost two-year wait for the final chapter, McLaughlin has spoken out about his hopes for the last episodes.
He might have a long wait if Finn Wolfhard’s recent comments are anything to go by, but that hasn’t stopped him from sharing his wishes.

‘This season is the last go-around,’ he told Esquire. ‘This is the last time you’ll be seeing Lucas. But I can’t really say much [at this point].’

He continued: ‘I would just love to see more of Lucas and what he has left. I want to see some type of goal in mind for Lucas’ character arc.’
Season four of Stranger Things saw Lucas briefly fall in with the wrong crowd, but he saw the light and returned to famous The Hellfire Club before it was too late.
McLaughlin said: ‘I wouldn’t want to just leave Lucas there without any ambition for the next season, amidst all the unusual events that happen in the world.’

The actor, who first appeared on US police dramas Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Unforgettable, also discussed his latest music release.
Having already dropped two singles in 2021 and 2022, McLaughlin has promised fans of Stranger Things that more music is coming: ‘Stay tuned.’
In recent weeks, Joseph Quinn, who played Hawkins legend Eddie Munson, came out in defence of Stranger Things co-star Grace Van Dien.
