Prince Andrew has been allowed to wear his garter robes for King Charles’s historic coronation.
He arrived at Westminster Abbey dressed in a velvet royal garter robe adorned with intricate royal details that signify his position as a Knight of the Garter.
This is unlike Harry who has been spotted entering the abbey dressed in just a dark suit with medals pinned to his suit jacket.
The pair were sat together on the third row, having entered the abbey just before 10.40am.
Andrew remains a Vice Admiral because of his service in the Royal Navy.
When he was stripped of his royal titles by Elizabeth II, it meant he could no longer be called ‘His Royal Highness’ – a title reserved for senior royals.
While he remains Vice Admiral his military appointment of Colonel of the Grenadier Guards was lost.
Like Harry, Buckingham Palace revealed Andrew will play no formal part in the coronation unlike senior royals.

Both royals are nevertheless at the historic coronation, which is the first in 70 years since Elizabeth II was crowned.
Today’s coronation is a ‘Collar Day’ for the Order of the Garter, an elite club of just 24 members wearing collars to show their knighthoods.
In the run up to the coronation it was reported Andrew was ‘furious’ that he might not be allowed to wear the plush ceremonial robes.
He had been ‘in the dark’ over whether he could wear them to the coronation.
