EastEnders cast reunion as three iconic stars glam up for ‘bestie’s’ wedding

We love it when former EastEnders’ favourites get together in real life, as friendships continue even after people have left the show.

Former Albert Square star Shaheen Jafargholi recently attended the wedding of some of his best friends, and he wasn’t the only former Walford resident among the people assembled to celebrate.

The first picture Shaheen posted on Instagram showed him looking cool in a waistcoat, bow tie and sunglasses, holding a bouquet of flowers. Did he catch the bride’s bouquet, or have one of his own? He’s not saying, but the picture is captioned, ‘besties got married 💒’

The glamorous wedding party, which took place in a marquee in a stunning countryside location, also included Shaheen’s former EastEnders co-stars, Tilly Keeper and Jasmine Armfield.

Jasmine, of course, played Bex Fowler, the former girlfriend of Shaheen’s character Shakil Kazemi.

Shaheen left the soap when his character was killed in a tragic stabbing. A special episode revolving around his funeral saw real life stories of people who had been victims of knife crime included in the story.

Following this Shaheen went on to join Casualty as nurse Marty Kirby. The popular character was involved in some high-profile storylines and finally left the show earlier this year as his character became disillusioned with the job in the wake of the death of a colleague.

Since leaving EastEnders Jasmine Armfield has also appeared in an episode of Casualty. She played Bex Fowler from 2014 to 2020.

Her exit storyline from the show involved Bex being overwhelmed by family stress and exam worries, as well as heartbreak after being rejected by Shakil’s brother Kush (Davood Ghadami). After hitting rock bottom she left Walford to go travelling, but as parents Martin (James Bye) and Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) are still living in the Square, she could well turn up again at some point.

Tilly Keeper played Louise Mitchell on the show. With mum Lisa (Lucy Benjamin) returning to Albert Square, fans did wonder whether Louise would also be coming back. Louise left after giving birth to Peggy, the daughter of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), and headed for Portugal where she still lives.
