Brookside and Coronation Street legend Michael Starke is set to return to Hollyoaks in a number of upcoming episodes.
The actor is set to reprise his role as a taxi driver, having first appeared in the Channel 4 soap in 2021.
Michael’s first Hollyoaks appearance saw him play a part in Nancy and Darren Osbourne’s (Jessica Fox and Ashley Taylor Dawson) date, making things uncomfortable between them.
He revealed to Metro.co.uk at the time that he was asked to take on the role by a friend.
‘I’m friends with Duncan Foster, the director and we worked on The Royle and Benidorm. He’s a great guy and he saw my name on the cast and asked if I’d do it.
‘I would have done it anyway, it’s literally round the corner and it’s a funny part but especially during these times it’s good. It came about at the right time as I have had a few TV roles, so I am on a bit of a roll.
‘The young cast were amazing and great fun -and so many people from the crew on Brookside, they were still there. I filmed my scenes and spent the rest of the day finding everyone and gabbing.’

Michael is no stranger to the world of soaps, having played window cleaner Thomas ‘Sinbad’ Sweeney in Brookside between 1984 and 2000.
He was involved in a number of memorable scenes, including one which saw him dig up the body of Trevor Jordache.
Following that, he appeared in Coronation Street as the head of the Morton family, Jerry.
