Nigel Farage has said he’s seriously thinking about joining I’m A Celebrity this year prompting fans to threaten to boycott the ITV show.
It’s just a matter of weeks before the popular reality competition returns to see a group of celebs dropped into the Australian jungle.
While the official cast of 2023 is yet to be announced, former Ukip leader Nigel – who has been asked to appear several times before – could be making his debut.
Addressing the speculation during his GB News show on Monday night, Farage said: ‘Unlike previous years, I am giving it very, very serious consideration.
‘Why? Well you’ve got about 10million young people who watch that programme. These are people who don’t really watch the news or read newspapers, but they still care about the country they live in and their futures, and actually, in many ways, the futures of young people in Britain had been blighted.

‘They haven’t got the same opportunities that their parents and grandparents had and they’d love to look for solutions.’

He continued: ‘So in my mind, if I was to do it, I might be able to connect with that audience, because goodness me they all watch I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
It didn’t take long for disgruntled fans to take to social media, with some threatening to boycott this year’s I’m A Celeb if Nigel joins the celebrity cast.
One person wrote: ‘I love I’m a Celeb, but I genuinely don’t think I can watch it with Nigel Farage. I mean, Matt was bad enough!’
Another added on X, formerly known as Twitter: ‘It’s a no from me re I’m a Celeb Nigel.’
‘I’m a Celeb has just fully ruined all of its credibility. First Matt Hancock. Now Nigel Farage? Wtf is wrong with our country,’ raged someone else.
Other comments included: ‘I’m a celeb is my tv guilty pleasure. If you are on it I will turn off’ and ‘ITV stop being so desperate.’
This comes after an insider shared: ‘Nigel has been at the top of the wish-list for I’m A Celeb bosses for years.’
The source added to The Sun: ‘They’ve offered him a huge fee as they know he’ll drive up viewing figures. Ant and Dec will love this signing.
The potential deal is reportedly worth up to £1million and is being negotiated with 2017’s winner Georgia Toffolo’s talent company — The Visionary Talent Agency.
Speaking on his GB News show last year, Farage said: ‘I have been approached several times by I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! and I’ve always ruled it out.

‘I’ve never thought it would be a good thing to do.’
Farage certainly wouldn’t be the first MP to face a Bushtucker trial, with former Conservative Party member Edwina Currie and ex-health secretary Matt Hancockboth having hit the jungle for a spot of televised humiliation.
The sitting MP who quit as Health Secretary in 2021 after being caught having an affair with an aide Gina Coladangelo, made his debut on the series alongside comedian Seann Walsh.
However, his arrival was met with intense backlash across the country from viewers and his fellow campmates, who challenged the politician about his motives for signing up to the series.
Last year’s series was eventually won by Lioness legend Jill Scott, who was crowned Queen of the Jungle.
