Nina Lucas’ (Mollie Gallagher) relationship with Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) has faced obstacles in Coronation Street over the past few weeks, but things are set to get even worse for the couple.
Things got complicated between them when Asha was paired with paramedic Isla for her training, and soon began to idolise her.
Nina mistook this as a crush, and soon grew jealous of how much time the pair were spending together, though things took a sudden turn when Asha decided to switch mentors after Isla revealed she was developing feelings for her.
In upcoming scenes, Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) announces his plans to host a special meal for Asha and twin brother Aadi’s (Adam Hussain) birthday, though neither of them are particularly keen on the idea.
However, without the heart to tell Dev how she really feels, Asha encourages Aadi to attend the meal, and he suggests a party at his place afterwards.
When Aadi invites Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) to the meal, Asha and Nina urge him to tell her how he really feels about her.
As the twins continue to plan their birthday bash, Asha gets an unexpected call from the university, and soon reveals all to Amy.
She explains that Isla has been reported for showing an inappropriate interest in her, and she’s certain she’s already worked out who was behind the report.
Furious, Asha lashes out at Nina, accusing her of reporting Isla in her jealousy, but has she got things right?
Meanwhile, Aadi manages to upset Amy when he tells newcomer Bobby (Jack Carroll) that she’s off the market, leaving her refusing to attend his birthday lunch.
Later, Aadi finds Nina stewing in Victoria Gardens, and they swap accounts of their rows with Amy and Asha.
However, the mood soon changes, and as Aadi compliments Nina, they lean in for a kiss…
The following day, Aadi and Nina share a quiet word where they agree to never mention the kiss again.
Unfortunately, a thoughtful birthday present and a guilty look are enough to send Asha spiraling as she begins to suspect something untoward.
With no choice but to come clean, Aadi and Nina tell her everything, leaving her devastated.
