Following Ellie Leach’s glorious Strictly Come Dancing win, we feel it’s important to remind you of her family connection to a former Coronation Street legend.
Last month, ex-Corrie actress Ellie, 22, and her professional partner Vito, 31, won the latest season of the long-running BBC dance series.
During her stint on the show, her soap stars were seen in the audience cheering her on, including actress Brooke Vincent, who was best known for playing Sophie Webster.
But did you know that Ellie and Brooke are actually real-life cousins?
Ahead of her exit from the ITV soap, Ellie previously reflected on joining the show, and revealed the important piece of advice that cousin Brooke, who had joined the show in 2004, had given her.
‘When I first started Brooke, my cousin, she was like, “Just be yourself, everyone will love you.” I think that’s what I’ve done, I’ve just been myself.
‘I think that’s why I’ve been here for so long because I feel like I’ve been myself but I’ve also made this part of me.

While Ellie left the show earlier this year when character Faye left to live in Slough with daughter Miley and her dad Jackson, Brooke left the role of Sophie Webster in 2019.
Ellie joined the soap in 2011 when she was just 10 years of age – entering the show as the adopted daughter of Anna and Eddie.
