Olivia Jade Giannulli has drawn the ire of her followers after comparing her massive home kitchen to a ‘prison’ – three years after her mum was released from jail.
The YouTuber and influencer, 24 – who is apparently not single after all following false reports that she’d split from boyfriend Jacob Elordi – uploaded her first new video in almost a month on Wednesday.
In the video, she takes viewers on a tour of her home as she runs through her various plans to spruce the place up – but it appears that her comments haven’t gone down well with fans.
While in her kitchen, which has two separate worktops, calm lighting, a separate dining area, and a fully stocked fridge, she looked around her and compared the place to… a prison.
‘Back in the kitchen. Sorry for the mess that’s behind me — the kitchen needs a clean. I’m so excited, you guys, I finally ordered wallpaper for the kitchen so it’s not going to feel so sterile,’ she began.

She then said: ‘It’s not going to feel like a prison.’
After pre-emptively warning her viewers not to make jokes about her own mother’s stint in prison three years ago, she swiftly moved on and talked through the recipe she’d cooked for dinner later that day.
Olivia Jade’s mother, Full House actress Lori Laughlin, 59, and father, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, 60, were sentenced to two and five months in prison respectively after a fraud scandal in 2019 involving college admission decisions.
The legal case was later dubbed the ‘Varsity Blues scandal’.

But, because people are people, the ‘prison’ comparison invited some savage replies: ‘I’m surprised that you even go shopping or cook for yourself when mummy can just pay other people to do that for you, like she does with your education and career.’
‘Ya, the prison “joke” was going too far Olivia, wtf?’ a second user commented underneath the video, with another remarking: ‘It is unbelievable that you would make a prison comment – you clearly learned nothing.’
However, other viewers took much more kindly to the joke, saying: ‘Ok, the prison joke absolutely killed me, it’s fun seeing that side of you.’

Another commented, ‘[the prison joke] cracked me up,’ while yet another teased: ‘The prison joke was too good’.
Lori later appeared in the video herself as the two debated over where to park during a shopping trip, with the pair deciding to ‘risk it for a biscuit’ and stay in a bay that only allowed shoppers to stop for 20 minutes.

In better news for Olivia Jade, it appears that the recent doubtful rumours over her relationship with Saltburn and Priscilla actor Jacob Elordi are untrue.
The pair are said to have been together for three years, but that looked to be coming to an end earlier this year when Us Weekly reported that the couple were no more.
But sources have told Entertainment Tonight and TMZ that the two are still very much an item and that they’ve been visiting each other in New York City, specifically the Rockefeller Studios where Saturday Night Live is filmed.
Jacob will be making his SNL presenting debut on January 20.
