A lot has happened in Coronation Street ever since Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) was sent to prison.
The most important development was that of Paul (Peter Ash) revealing to Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) that he wants to end his life when the time comes, and Billy agreeing to help him and not let his partner suffer against his will.
Paul and Billy haven’t shared this heartbreaking twist with their family yet but in upcoming episodes, there’s every chance Bernie will learn of her son’s secret when she pops by the flat.
She tells Paul’s PA Moses to enjoy some time off and sets about cleaning the place from top to bottom.

However, when Bernie opens the cupboard concealing his stash of Benzos, Paul pales and starts to worry.
It appears Paul manages to buy himself some time as later in the week, he joins Gemma and Bernie for a night in the dilapidated motorhome.
On the way, Paul and Gemma wonder if Bernie is lost as she stops in a layby and pulls out a road atlas.

Back in Weatherfield, Billy tries to call Paul, worried about where he’s gone.
Meanwhile, Bernie stops in the middle of a field and admits to Paul and Gemma that she’s actually got no clue how to get to the campsite. She starts the engine, only to discover they’re stuck in the mud!
