Members of the Coronation Street crew recently came together to say goodbye to producer Iain MacLeod.
Back at the start of this year, news broke that Iain will now oversee both of ITV’s flagship soaps as he’s appointed Executive Producer for Continuing Drama by the broadcaster.
The soap boss, who previously worked on Emmerdale, moved over to Corrie five years ago and has been responsible for some of the serial’s most acclaimed stories in that timeframe, from Geoff Metcalfe’s abuse of Yasmeen to Seb Franklin’s tragic death in a hate-crime narrative.
But, with immediate effect, Iain now will be responsible for leading the creative teams who produce both Coronation Street and Emmerdale in Manchester and Leeds reporting to John Whiston, Managing Director of Continuing Drama and Head of ITV in the North with a direct line to Huw Kennair Jones, ITV Drama Commissioner.
A busy man indeed!

Ahead of his new job role, Iain recently joined some of his Corrie colleagues to reflect on his time as producer and prepare for the exciting move.
Writing legend Jonathan Harvey shared some images from their evening on Instagram. The pictures featured Iain making a speech to his friends, and some hilarious bunting with his face on.
Why not!
Captioning the post, Jonathan wrote: ‘Farewell dinner and drinks with the writers for our outgoing producer, @iain.macleod.5070 a scholar and a gent.
‘And it’s not really goodbye, it’s au revoir!’
‘I am beyond delighted to be stewarding two shows that I – along with the whole nation – absolutely love’, said Iain of his appointment in the role.
