This year, Easter weekend will begin with Good Friday (April 18) and stretch over Easter Sunday (April 20) and Easter Monday (April 21).
Historically, shops close early over the Easter weekend.
In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, shops that are more than 280 square metres have to close on Easter Sunday, with the break being a four-day weekend.
So, if you’re looking to pick up some DIY supplies from shops like Homebase or Wickes, what are their open times over the Easter weekend?

Across the UK, B&Q branches will open Good Friday from 7am to 8pm and on Saturday from 7am to 8pm.
However, stores will be closed on Easter Sunday, except those in Scotland, where the doors will open from 9am to 6pm.
On Easter Monday, your local B&Q should be open from 7am to 8pm. Though, depending on where in the UK you are, they might open their doors at 8am.

When is ScrewFix open over Easter weekend?

If you’re a tradesperson looking to pick up some supplies over the Easter weekend, we’ve got some good news and bad news.
Most of the some 900 branches of ScrewFix will be open from 7am to 6pm on Saturday.
But all stores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are closed on Easter Sunday. Only stores in Scotland will be open on the day from 9am to 4pm.

When is Homebase open over Easter weekend?

If you’re looking to do a little work in the garden over the bank holiday weekend, make sure you check when Homebase is open.
Shops in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland will be open from 8am to 8pm on Good Friday and 8am to 7pm on Saturday.
Branches will be shuttered on Easter Sunday; though normal trading hours will operate that day if you live in Scotland or Ireland.
On Easter Sunday, Homebase doors will open from 8am to 8pm.

When are Wickes open over Easter weekend?

Wickes is second only to B&Q when it comes to all things home improvement.
And just like B&Q, whether your nearest Wickes is open depends on where in the UK it is.
- Good Friday: 7am-8pm
- Saturday: 7am-7pm
- Easter Sunday: Closed (England and Wales), 7am-7pm (Scotland)
- Easter Monday: 7am-8pm
