Netflix star Golda Rosheuvel has been announced as joining the cast of Doctor Who as fans were treated to a brand new trailer.
The actress, 53, is best-known for playing Queen Charlotte in Bridgerton and her own spin-off series, and has also appeared in sci-fi blockbuster Dune.
Now the icon is set to appear in the upcoming series of Doctor Who alongside Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson as the Doctor and companion Ruby Sunday.
What’s more… this isn’t the first time the legendary actress has stepped foot in the Doctor Who universe, as several fans with sharp memories quickly realised.
It was confirmed on Sunday that Golda will star in an episode titled Space Babies playing a character called Jocelyn in the Doctor and Ruby’s first-ever adventure in the Tardis.

Before Jocelyn arrives in the Whoniverse, fans might want to take a trip down memory lane to Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood, where the 53-year-old played the role of Dr Angela Connolly in two episodes.

‘OG’s remember when she was in Torchwood!’ an X user called Matt wrote after the latest announcement.
After another user going by the handle @CuriosityRocks tweeted: ‘Welcome to the Whoniverse Family, Golda 😘😘,’ someone else called CJ corrected them, responding: ‘Welcome back*.’
The premiere of the new series of Doctor Who, which will see Golda enter as newcomer Jocelyn, was directed by Julie Anne Robinson and written by showrunner Russell T Davies.
Following the announcement of her joining the BBC series cast, Russell said it has been ‘amazing to see the whole world appreciate Golda’s talents, because of Bridgerton’.
He added it has ‘been an absolute joy to invite her to Cardiff to help launch Ncuti and Millie’s first season’.
The season premiere will be a double bill, also featuring a second episode starring Jinkx Monsoon.
Her episode will see the Doctor and Ruby head back in time to meet The Beatles at the beginning of their explosive career in the sixties.

Fans don’t have long to wait before the new series ends, with the first episodes dropping on BBC iPlayer and Disney+ at midnight on May 11.
And as the countdown continues, fans were given another look at the upcoming series with a brand new trailer.
The trailer shows the Doctor and Ruby shoot across the stars and back and forth through time, from a trip to sixties England to the time where dinosaurs ruled the land.
And in an incredibly meta move, actress Millie declares ‘this is so Bridgerton’ as they explore the same time era the Netflix show is set.
Things are certain to get dangerous however, but Ncuti’s Doctor is the one for the job, as he declares ‘I will shatter this silly little battlefield into dust. In a heartbeat, into dust.’
Fans have, naturally, been losing their mids over the surprise trailer dropping as an Easter treat, with Instagram user x_jessx_ joking ‘earthquakes were made from jaws dropped around the globe’.
‘This is going to be INCREDIBLE,’ user Drwhotv wrote, while degraftishere called it a ’10/10 trailer’.

‘I’m going to explode this looks amazing,’ black_is_traditional declared, and mochamutts said it all as they shouted ‘I’M SO EXCITED OH MY GOD.’

It comes after former showrunner Steven Moffatt was confirmed to be writing an episode in the new series in what the BBC promises will be an ‘explosive’ return.
When the Doctor Who revival began in 2005, it was helmed by Russell, with Steven writing a two-episode arc.
Steven went on to become the head writer and showrunner of the sci-fi BBC series from 2010 until 2017, and played a pivotal role in Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi being cast.
