Coronation Street couple’s sex antics interrupted by surprising theft

Tim and Sally Metcalfe (Joe Duttine and Sally Dynevor) had their raunchy afternoon together interrupted in Monday’s (July 1) episode of Coronation Street thanks to the head of Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn).

No, not like that.

Sally and Tim had a posh event to attend in tonight’s episode of the ITV soap – the unveiling of Tommy Orpington’s bust.

Seriously, minds out of the gutter.

While Sally was looking forward to the event at Weatherfield County, Tim was more reluctant to go. He was previously organising a surprise birthday party for Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), only to be told by Sally that he cannot celebrate his friend’s big day because of alternative plans.

As Sally and Tim sipped champagne at the soirée, Steve was feeling underwhelmed on day 1 of being 50. He had convinced himself Tim and Amy (Elle Mulvaney) were sorting a birthday bash for him but when Cassie (Claire Sweeney) and Ken (William Roache) realised that absolutely wasn’t the case, they had to act fast.

Cassie and Ken invited Rita (Barbara Knox) and Brian (Peter Gunn) over, but Steve was very disappointed he was meant to be ‘enjoying’ his birthday with just a bowl of crisps.

However, after Steve discovered Sal and Tim were at Weathy County, things changed very quickly.

When Cassie and Steve arrived, he spied a perfect way to get revenge on Tommy, the man who stole Tracy (Kate Ford) from him.

As the unveiling got underway, Tommy’s bust was replaced with a football.

And where was the gold replica of the footballer’s face? In Cassie’s car.

Later, as Sally and Tim returned home, attention turned to them passing the time before Come Dine with Me by having sex.

Upstairs, as Tim got prepared, he got the shock of his life when he found the head of Tommy Orpington in their bed!

Tim raced over to Number 1 with the bust and confronted Steve.

After the two friends cleared the air about the theft and attending the event, Tim listened as Steve opened up about how he expected his life to be in a different place when he turned 50.

Steve said he’s lost a great deal in the last 10 years and Tim felt sad for him. To try and lift his spirits, Tim reminded him that their friendship is something Steve won’t ever lose, no matter what they go through.

Attention then turned to the very large Tommy-shaped elephant in the room as the duo wondered how to cover up Steve and Cassie’s crime.
