Big Brother 2024 is bringing back one of its hallmark features from the original series, it has been claimed.
ITV’s reboot of the classic reality show was a hit with viewers when it returned last year – but there was one change they were less keen on.
While the broadcaster kept elements of the original programme, including the Diary Room and narrator Marcus Bentley, it was all pre-recorded.
Now, though, an insider has claimed Big Brother will be live after bosses successfully trialled it on the celebrity spin-off.
A source told The Sun: ‘They brought back the live element for the celebrity version last autumn and it didn’t cause too many problems.
‘But it did bring back the important sense that anything could happen, and it would all be caught on camera.

‘That’s even more exciting given the fact that this is not the celebrity version, so we really have no idea what kind of characters are going to emerge from the limousines and go into the house.’
It is thought Big Brother will return for a second season on ITV next month with AJ Odudu and Will Best returning as hosts.
Last year, lawyer Jordan Sangha, 26, won the show and a £100,000 cash prize after spending six weeks in the Big Brother house.
The show was followed up months later by Celebrity Big Brother with TV personality David Potts emerging triumphant.

The 31-year-old beat the likes of Fern Britton, Levi Roots, Colson Smith and Bradley Riches to victory.
In the grand final, Strictly professional Nikita Kuzmin, 26, took second place, with Corrie star Colson, 26, in third.
