The Platt family continue to be at the centre of Coronation Street drama ahead of Gail Platt’s (Helen Worth) exit from the ITV soap.
A few weeks ago, the Platts learnt that Bethany (Lucy Fallon) was in intensive care abroad after botched liposuction surgery. Due to an issue with her medical insurance, the family were told they needed to raise money to pay her fees and bring her home.
It left Gail with an idea. She took out a bridging loan and announced she would put her beloved home up for sale. A shocking and unexpected move, let’s be honest.
The situation then got a tiny bit more complicated due to the arrival of old resident Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson). At first, Eileen (Sue Cleaver) wondered if her ex was back to see speak with her, but Jesse then announced he was on the cobbles to see Gail.
The very random return leaves the Platt siblings suspicious all week. Coming up, Sarah (Tina O’Brien) and David (Jack P Shepherd) continue to question Jesse which leads to an argument.
Gail then snaps and orders her children out of the house.
Later, as Jesse searches for Lily’s (Brooke Malonie) bicycle pump in the cupboard, he makes a discovery but is distracted due to witnessing Gail struggle to breathe.
As Jesse rushes to help, he calls an ambulance while Gail remains breathless while clutching her arm.
The Platt siblings arrive on the street just as Gail is taken away in an ambulance. Sarah and David can’t help but blame themselves for starting the row with Jesse, but what will happen next?
Towards the end of the week, tensions are high as David feels he’s responsible for what happened.

Things are set to develop even more between Jesse and Gail before she leaves, as they look set to get married during the festive season.
Metro understands that cast and crew have been filming the big day over the last week, with actress Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Connor, posting a picture of wedding celebrations at the Viaduct Bistro on Instagram.
Alongside the picture she wrote: ‘1. #bts It was Xmas day in @coronationstreet .. no spoilers but Maria got a bit dressed up.’
As with most Weatherfield weddings, they don’t always go to plan.

A source told the Irish Mirror: ‘The wedding scenes are being filmed at the moment and when they air, viewers will be gripped.’
