Inter 1-0 Arsenal as it happened: Gunners lose again on frustrating Champions League night

Two defeats on the bounce away from home for the Gunners – they lose their first game in the Champions League this season, conceding their first goal in the competition to boot.

An excellent performance from Inter who will see this as a real scalp.

A moment of magic from Nwaneri almost rescues Arsenal! The teenager brilliantly spins around de Vrij on the edge of the box with space to shoot. He lets fly, but his effort is blasted just over the bar.

Five minutes of time have been added on – just enough time for Martin Odegaard to make his long-awaited return from injury. He comes onto replace Havertz who has gone off with a bloody rag pressed against his noggin.

Arsenal launch the ball in again and Havertz and Bisseck clash heads. There’s a bit of blood with medical staff from both teams coming onto the pitch.

It’s very much attack versus defence in this final 10 minutes – Inter are so well drilled however with Arsenal failing to pick their way through.

Havertz goes down in the box amid a sea of bodies but the referee isn’t interested. Inter meanwhile are preparing a triple change.

Dumfries clears off the line! A Saka corner causes havoc and a flick on almost sends the ball into the far corner but the Dutchman scrambles away.

White is penalised again, this time judged to have blocked Zielinski right in front of the benches. Arteta is not impressed.
