Arsenal fell to defeat against Inter Milan on a frustrating Champions League night in Italy.
Hakan Calhanoglu’s penalty on the stroke of half-time was enough to seal all three points for the hosts with the Gunners suffering their first defeat in Europe this season.
Arsenal were furious to see Mikel Merino penalised for handball in the incident that led to the spot kick. The Gunners felt they should have been given a penalty of their own after the Spain international was ‘punched in the head’ by Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer as he attempted to collect a cross.
Arsenal toiled, struggling to find a creative spark once again, but did welcome Martin Odegaard back from injury late in the contest.
They face another tough test on the road on Sunday when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

KICK-OFF!
And we are back underway. Can Arsenal claw this back?

But here come Inter again. Frattesi races down the right and hooks a cross into the six yard area where Taremi is lurking. Ben White does well under pressure, however, heading clear.
