Emmerdale’s Danny Miller has issued a hugely important statement after fans of the ITV soap noticed an obvious error.
On Monday, the ITV soap’s account on X posted a video that featured Danny – who plays Aaron Dingle in the show – taking us on a tour of Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) new business depot.
And it was the pronunciation of that exact word that got everyone talking.
As Danny wandered around the new set and highlighted how talented the Emmerdale team are, he pondered over how to say depot, but chose to pronounce it as dee-po, instead of the typical way – dep-oh.
Due to plenty of Emmerdale fans pointing out the error in the video, Danny made a return to the social media account yesterday to issue somewhat of an announcement.
The actor sits down at a table in front of a plain background. Pretending as though he’s surrounded by a sea of journalists, Danny says he’s there to address the ‘mis-pronunciation of the word depot’ and is ready to take questions about ‘said incident’.
When asked what went wrong yesterday, Danny says he wanted to help the digital team out and showcase the brilliant set designed by the talented Emmerdale crew.
The actor delivers quite the performance, regularly failing to pronounce words like Caleb and aluminium correctly to create a fun follow-up video. And we loved it!
Caleb’s dep-oh was introduced at the start of the week in a storyline that saw him clash with Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell).

Infuriated by what Will (Dean Andrews) had to say to him, Eric made a beeline for the depot, where he relayed his concerns to Caleb, who wasn’t remotely fazed, assuring Eric that all the appropriate checks had been carried out and he’d been given the go-ahead from the council.
Feeling like no-one was listening to him, Eric decided to take a stand, hopping into one of Caleb’s vans.
