In the week where Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) killer was finally revealed in Coronation Street and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve Unwin’s (Heather Peace) relationship fell apart in EastEnders, soap fans have somehow found plenty to laugh about.
Last week, Reiss Colwell’s (Jonny Freeman) abduction of Bianca Jackson (Patsy Kensit) managed to throw up some laughs for EastEnders viewers, while Neighbours fans made us giggle with their suggestion that ALDI should make a dupe of Kylie Wines called – wait for it – Charlene.
Soap fans are back on top form again this week, and on the Metro Soaps team we have been giggling our way through the soap hashtags on social media.

Bulk Buying
We love a bargain, and it seems that Corrie may have had an offer on buying hoodies in bulk this week, with Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) and DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) showing off every possible colour available in a certain style of hoodie.
Three for tea
EastEnders fans are back again with another hilarious quip about Reiss and Bianca.
When Reiss brought Bianca a kettle to make her stay in his storage lock-up more comfortable, he clearly foresaw her getting through lots of cups of tea – given that she already had two kettles in the room with her.
Turning heads
EastEnders newcomer Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) is already a huge hit with fans, with one using a classic meme format to demonstrate how she’s stealing the show from last year’s biggest storyline.
Tosser of the week
The Talk of the Street podcast has come through with yet another gem from Coronation Street this week, marking their third contribution to our meme roundups.
In the style of an old TV Burp bit, they presented us with the most pointless apple toss of the week.
(I genuinely first saw this eight hours prior to writing this and it still makes me absolutely crack up every single time.)

When a soap actress gets pregnant, we love to play a game of spot the bump.
The soaps have plenty of practice at finding creative ways of hiding baby bumps, from cushions on laps to oversized handbags – but the tactic used by EastEnders in 2019 to hide Lacey Turner’s pregnancy was nothing short of hysterical.
Grim Bernie
Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) has had her sights set on bringing down The Six one by one this week, and one Reddit user hilariously compared her to the Grim Reaper.
It’s gin o’clock somewhere…
Finally, we can’t help but laugh at this Corrie fan’s observation that Lisa’s plan to spend more time with daughter Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) ended with her necking gin down the pub. Good for her.
