Carol Vorderman has responded after I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Melvin Odoom declared his love for her on national TV.
BBC Radio 1 DJ Melvin, 44, has set up home in the famous ITV camp this series along with the likes of Oti Mabuse, Alan Halsall, and GK Barry.
During their first few days as campmates, the celebs began sharing personal stories, with Danny Jones’s mental health confessions leaving viewers in tears, as well as Barry McGuigan’s heartbreaking memories of his daughter before her death.
On hand to provide the humour, however, Melvin has been making the most of his airtime by issuing a callout to his ultimate crush… enter Carol.
It all began when the stars were rewarded with their luxury items, as Melvin was handed a personalised pillow with a picture of the glam broadcaster, 63, printed on it.

Then, in last night’s episode, the former children’s TV star discussed her in camp, role-playing asking her out on a date and offering to take Carol for a romantic dinner.

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, Melvin said: “She could be watching this right now and be thinking, “I need myself a jungle man”.’
Indeed, Carol was watching… and she’s loving the attention.
Taking to her Instagram page today, the former Countdown queen wrote: ‘Well hello @melvinodoom, or shall I say Melvin Vorderman or Jungle Man which sounds very much like Vorder Man? 👋🏻😍😂’
She also shared some very flirty voice notes, telling him: ‘Oh, Melvin! I’m blushing redder than the leatherette dress I’m wearing on your pillowcase. But, I’ll be rooting for you all the way through, and see you on the other side… in the two consonants DM.’
In a separate voice memo, she cheekily said: ‘Melvin, or should I say Jungle Man? Melvin Jungle Man, Melvin Vorderman… sounds the same to me.
‘Right, question: have you been spying on me? Because only last night, I had a little Thai food.
‘In fact, my menu was Pad Thai (quite a lot of it), with a little chicken satay on the side, and it was delicious, Jungle Man.

‘Anyway, keep doing what you’re doing; you’re doing a brilliant job.’
Taking to the comments, it seems Carol’s fans and famous pals are very much here for the flirtatious banter.
Outing her colleague, fellow Radio 1 host Clara Amfo wrote of Melvin’s Carol obsession: ‘This has been a years long thing!’
‘Buy a ticket and fly to Oz to wait for Melvin on the other side of the bridge. It’s a win win if you ask me x’, joked First Dates star Fred Sirieix.
‘Dreams come true kids! Just need you to meet him on the bridge now’, wrote Melvin’s official account, which is being managed by loved ones while he’s away.
Speaking of Melvin’s social media pages, his Instagram name has been changed to ‘Melvin Odoom (Vorderman to be)’, while his X name reads Melvin O̶d̶o̶o̶m̶ Vorderman.
Something tells us he’ll be checking his DMs first thing once he leaves the Jungle…
In last night’s episode, the loveable star recalled attening the Pride of Britain Awards earlier this year, which is hosted annually by Carol.

‘I was too shy to say hello that day,’ Melvin admitted.
Tulisa then advised him: ‘Melvin, a strong woman like that is gonna appreciate you going, “I just wanna say, I think you’re a sensational woman and I’d love to take you out for a drink and get to know you, if you’d be happy to oblige me”.’
Suggesting they should do a bit of role-play, N-Dubz singer Tulisa took on the role of Carol.
Melvin asked: ‘Hello, Carol, great work on Pride of Britain. Are you free on Saturday?’
The camp objected, though, arguing that Melvin was going over the top.
Trying again, he began: ‘You look sensational today; you’re actually glowing; has anyone ever said that?’
Before adding: ‘Listen, I’ve booked a restaurant for next week; it’s gonna be Thai food; all expenses paid; I’m gonna send the cab to your house for about 8pm, I’ll see you there.’
Clearly impressed in her role as Carol, Tulisa jumped up and ran after him.
