This Morning host Cat Deeley has been scolded by Sir Bob Geldof after he corrected two mistakes she made live on air.
The Irish singer-songwriter and political activist, 73, was appearing on the ITV breakfast programme on Tuesday to discuss the Band Aid single Do They Know It’s Christmas and its new remix.
Almost immediately after introducing Sir Bob and Midge Ure, Cat was forced to clarify an incorrect statistic she’d read out.
‘So I was supposed to say £200 million has been raised but in todays money…’ she said before Sir Bob said it was now £480 million.
‘Yea not £2 million thanks guys. You’ve never done this before,’ he quipped.
While Cat responded by saying she was a ‘spring chicken’, her co-host Andi Peters looked taken aback and exclaimed: ‘Wow!’
Not missing her chance to also call out Sir Bob, Cat then questioned why he’d been too busy to undertake pre-interviews for the show a day earlier.
Sir Bob explained how he had been ‘all over the place’ while Midge made a gag saying ‘only one of them was still a musician’ and shared his excuse – that he’d been busy on tour.
After discussing the history of Band Aid, Sir Bob was forced to correct Cat again when she mistakenly said an upcoming Band Aid documentary was airing on Channel 4.

‘This extraordinary footage has been pieced together in a documentary that is coming out Thursday,’ Andi began, as Cat added ‘on Channnel 4’.
‘No not Channel 4,’ Sir Bob realised, as Andi jumped in and said it would actually be shown on BBC Four.
‘Who briefs you? Who does your research? Deeley!’ Sir Bob exclaimed as she held up her briefing notes.
‘Oh god. Shamed by Bob Geldof on live telly!’ Andi said to his co-host.
The musician also went on to question the research behind the show and jokingly asked ‘what was wrong with TV’ today.
Despite the run-ins, the pair still laughed off the mistakes and continued chatting throughout the lively interview.
Midge then went on to address current criticism of the song after Ed Sheeran said his ‘understanding of the narrative’ had changed since he appeared on the song in 2014.
‘The dialogue is incredibly important and it brings it to the surface again. It doesn’t matter what side you are on – all need to be covered. Africa standing on its own – absolutely. We totally get and agree with that. For nearly 40 years we’ve put money into development,’ Midge explained.
‘Our job…was to keep the cameras focused on what the problems are. The people we are dealing with are a result of bad things that happened,’ he added.

Sir Bob also said ‘millions of lives’ had been saved as a result of the song.
On Monday morning, four decades after stars including Bono, Boy George, Phil Collins and George Michael came together to raise money to address famine in Ethiopia, another version was released.
