Kate Middleton looked regal in a burgundy ensemble as she greeted the Emir of Qatar in London today.
The Qatar state visit marks the fifth time the 42-year-old has officially appeared in public since her cancer diagnosis in May 2024.
The Princess of Wales’ autumnal outfit featured a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen burgundy coat, a similar style to many of the tailored pieces we’ve seen her wear before from McQueen, as well as other designers such as Catherine Walker and Laura Green.
For example, the mum-of-three has worn a customised Alexander McQueen double breasted wool coat in several colours before, including dark green, red and brown.
The look was completed Gianvito Rossi Rhymes boots, which are no longer available, but retailed for £1,315, and a Sahar Millinery Teardrop Beret, made exclusively for Kate.

The chic outfit was paired with several iconic pieces of jewellery from the late Queen Elizabeth II’s private collection. The Princess wore the four row pearl-diamond choker by Garrard, and paired it with the Bahrain Pearl Diamond Drop Earrings.
The jewels in the earrings were gifted to the Queen and Philip by the ruler of Bahrain in 1947 as a wedding present. They were later made into jewellery pieces and the Queen famously wore them in her first Royal Command portrait by Dorothy Wilding in July 1952.
Kate has worn the necklace and earrings together on several occasions, including most notably at Prince Philip’s funeral in 2021. Most recently she wore them to the Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph.

The accessories are not only a sentimental nod to the late monarch, but also to Princess Diana who wore both the earrings and the choker in November 1982 at a banquet in honor of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.
The mum-of-three was joined on Horse Guards today by King Charles, and her husband, Prince William, to officially welcome the Emir of Qatar to the UK, before travelling back to Buckingham Palace in the carriage procession.

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla was not in attendance, due to the ‘lingering side effects’ of a chest infection.
The welcoming ceremony marks the start of a two-day Qatar state visit to the UK, which has seen the Qatari flag hung along The Mall for the first time ever.
The Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is in the UK with the first of his three wives, Sheikha Jawaher.

Kate has been keeping a relatively low profile this year in order to focus on her health, appearing in public on just a handful of occasions.
Despite undergoing cancer treatment at the time, she was able to attend Trooping the Colour in June, and the Wimbledon Men’s Final in July.

For the King’s birthday parade, she wore a white Jenny Packham dress, with a statement bow detail, and matching hat by Philip Treacy.

At Centre Court, she opted for a customised version of the Safiyaa Cecilia Lilac Midi Dress which was available at the time for £1,295. She watched the final with daughter, Princess Charlotte, nine.

In September, the Princess shared the good news with the public that she had finished chemotherapy, and was now ‘cancer free’.
The Princess also attended events to mark Remembrance Day in November.
