With the New Year upon us, people up and down the country will elect to kick-start 2025 with a trip to the shops to stock up on essentials.
Aldi, Lidl and Iceland are all great options if you’re feeling a little cash-strapped right now (and let’s face it, who isn’t?), but like most supermarkets their opening hours will be a little different on New Year’s Day.
Below, we take a look at the New Year’s Day opening and closing times at all three chains.
Aldi
- New Year’s Day: CLOSED
Customers should check the details for their local store online to be sure on the Aldi website.
Lidl
- New Year’s Day: Inside M25 – 10am – 6pm. Outside M25 – Closed
Customers can check their local store’s opening hours on the online store finder or through the Lidl Plus app.
Iceland
The times vary from store to store, but most Iceland branches will be open with reduced hours, with a few entirely closed on New Year’s Day.
