Masked Singer UK’s reveal of Toad in the Hole as Macy Gray was branded an ‘excruciating’ watch.
Everyone’s favourite guessing game on ITV is fully underway, with Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, and Mo Gilligan back on the judging panel.
They are also joined by Maya Jama, who replaces Rita Ora to play detective and suss out the clues before the masks come off.
We’ve already had four major reveals so far this series (well, three if you include Sir Mo Farah being unmasked as the giant version of host Joel Dommett).
Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway was first revealed behind Spag Bol, while Bake Off’s Dame Prue Leith was next to be unmasked as Pegasus, and most recently Tattoo was unveiled as Carol Decker.
The third person in the unmasked club was Macy Gray, who was behind Toad in the Hole’s costume.

Justifying voting her to be unmasked, Jonathan said the judges were pretty ‘certain’ they knew who it was and were simply ‘desperate’ to see if they were right.
Earlier predictions from the panel also included music icon Tracy Chapman from comedian Mo, but the others remained adamant that R&B legend Macy would be underneath.
Sure enough, she was, with Maya hailing her as an ‘inspiration’.
Macy lost out to Bear in a sing-off, while fellow performers Bush, Pufferfish, and Wolf also made it through tonight.
She clearly wasn’t too impressed with the result, though, because as soon as she was revealed as the latest person to be unmasked, she stormed off the stage and down the tunnel.
The judges and presenter Joel were left bewildered, wondering if she would actually return to them for one final song.
Thankfully, she did, but it certainly made for awkward viewing, as Macy gave very short answers when quizzed on her clues, such as having a song in the Shrek movie and being part of a Calvin Klein jeans campaign.
When asked whether she’d ‘had fun on the show’, Macy simply replied with: ‘Yeah.’
Joel himself shared a clip of the moment on Instagram with the caption, ‘Lol’.
In the comments, his followers couldn’t help but joke about how ‘uncomfortable’ the scenes were.
Nevertheless, the surviving characters now remain in the competition with the hopes of continuing to fool the judges (and viewers) with their cryptic clues, riddles, and distorted voices.
The Masked Singer 2024 actually wasn’t Macy’s first rodeo, as the 57-year-old soul singer has taken part before.
In 2021, Macy competed in the Australian version as Atlantis, and in 2023, she appeared as the wild card contestant Sea Queen in the US version.
That brings her total to three appearances across continents, making her somewhat of a seasoned Masked Singer pro, surely.
Reacting to her big reveal, fans of the show took to X, obsessed with how Macy appeared ‘fuming’ that she had been eliminated.
