Carl Woods has said his failed IVF treatments with Katie Price ended up being a ‘blessing in disguise’.
The 46-year-old former glamour model dated the Love Island star, 35, for about three and a half years before breaking up in 2023.
During their relationship, the pair underwent IVF treatment to try and have a child together, her sixth, but ultimately it wasn’t successful.
At the time the couple also let cameras follow their journey for a Channel 4 documentary, titled Katie Price: Making Babies, which is set to air next week.
A source previously said she was ‘determined to show the raw and real side of IVF, and how it’s been a deeply personal struggle for her’.
However, now her ex-fiancé Carl has said he is relieved they didn’t end up having a child together.

Instead, the car dealer said he was ‘not unhappy but ecstatic’ it didn’t work.
‘This is not a heartbreak situation. I’m sure she’s glad she’s got the clean break. You know, we don’t have any ties,’ he told The Sun.
‘So actually, yes, everything happens for a reason. God was looking down on me and Kate and said, “You’re not matched to be parents, let’s not make this work. You go that way, I’ll go this way”.’
Both Carl and Katie have said they won’t be watching the programme, with Carl saying it was ‘old news and everybody’s moved on’, adding he didn’t ‘see the point’ in it even going to air.

‘I’m not stressed about it. I’m not going to watch it. You know, it was a long time ago. Bygones be bygones. It’s all buried,’ he added.
The couple decided to pursue IVF treatment after an explosive period in their relationship, during which time Carl discovered Katie had cheated on him.
He now says that in hindsight they shouldn’t have even considered trying to have a baby together as they ‘wasn’t right for each other’.
He went on to say that ‘children put strain on a relationship’ and the fact they were already facing difficulties should have made them reconsider their decision.

Carl also said he found filming the documentary ‘uncomfortable’ as he felt what they were doing was ‘wrong’.
Regardless of the result of the treatment, Carl said he believed they would have still split, but it would have ‘just been more complicated with a child involved’.

Calling the experience ‘horrific’, she added it ‘wasn’t the right relationship’ and ‘things happen for a reason if I’m honest’.
