Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) was terribly paranoid after attacking Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) in Emmerdale.
Yesterday, Laurel popped by Nicola’s (Nicola Wheeler) house only to find her being confronted by Anthony. A few moments prior, Nicola had been told by Chas (Lucy Pargeter) that Anthony shouldn’t be around children.
Nicola then raced home to stop Anthony from continuing his tutoring session with Angelica (Rebecca Bakes). Once Angelica left, Nicola put forward the accusations, and Anthony denied them all.
Nicola threatened to call Ruby (Beth Cordingly), which sparked Anthony’s anger. He grabbed Nicola and tried to take her phone, but was stopped by Laurel – who had hit Anthony over the head with a candlestick.

In the aftermath, Anthony staggered out of the house but told Laurel and Nicola that if their ‘vile lies’ about him were spread anymore, he’d report them to the police.
In tonight’s episode, Laurel remained in a panic as Anthony disappeared from the village. Unbeknownst to her, he had been driven to a barn by Caleb (William Ash), and was having a gun pointed at him.
Because Laurel had no idea this was happening, it caused her mind to spiral.

It was down to Nicola to remind Laurel that she attacked Anthony in a split second decision to save her friend. The comments did not make Laurel feel reassured though, so she later decided to try and call the police herself.

Nicola took Laurel’s phone and ended the call. Eventually, she managed to convince Laurel somewhat that she’d make matters worse if she told the police.
What Nicola and Laurel don’t know right now is that Anthony will be dead by the end of the week – which will make them prime suspects if the police learn about the attack.
But could either of them be responsible for killing him?
