Ruby Allen’s (Louisa Lytton) reckless actions had devastating consequences for Martin Fowler (James Bye) in Monday’s EastEnders.
Last week, fans saw Ruby blackmail a local councillor in a bid to try and save the Turpin Road market stalls from closure.
After catfishing Councillor Barker (Iain Fletcher) online, she used explicit pictures he’d sent to get him to stop the council’s development plans.
However, Ruby received an unexpected reaction from partner Martin when he found out about her scheming, furious she’d reverted to her devious ways.
In the latest episode of the BBC soap, the traders were called together for an announcement, where Barker revealed that all development plans had been cancelled and the whole market was now safe from closure.
Ruby was delighted her plan had ultimately had the desired effect, but Martin was still disappointed at the way she’d conducted herself.
In a bid to build bridges, she later invited Barker to meet her and Martin at The Albert, where she deleted all the pictures of him from her phone and told him she had no back-ups saved to the Cloud.

As she tried to shake his hand to call a truce, Barker walked out – and it quickly turned out he was feeling vengeful.
Out on Bridge Street, Martin was then stunned as Barker revealed he was closing his stall down over an alleged health and safety violation, claiming to have found rat faeces on his produce.

Later this week, Martin’s ex-wife Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) steps in to try and save his livelihood, pleading with Ruby to help her, but faces some obstacles.

During Monday’s episode, fans also saw Stacey confess to best mate Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) that she still has feelings for Martin and believes he has feelings for her too.
Could her efforts to help him lead to a reunion?
