This article contains spoilers for Thursday’s episode of EastEnders, which is already available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) uncovered some new key evidence in the hunt for Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) attacker in a big EastEnders twist on Thursday.
The fallout from Cindy’s attack on Christmas night is still tearing through the Knight and Beale families, with many suspects coming under suspicion.
However, fingers were pointed in the direction of Cindy’s former lover Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) in the latest episode of the BBC soap when some CCTV footage of him came to light.
After crashing at her brother’s for the night, Gina got chatting to one of Junior’s neighbours, who soon put the pieces together and realised she could have some vital evidence.
Sorry, this video isn't available any more.
It was then revealed her doorbell had captured footage of an angry Junior calling Cindy’s phone before then kicking some rubbish in a rage – proving that Junior’s alibi that he was ‘home all night’ was false.
Gina took this information to her mum, who had already found out that Junior was in possession of the shovel used to attack her and taken it to the police.
Cindy then went round to confront Junior at his flat, accusing him of being her attacker.

However, she appeared to soften towards him when he claimed to still be in love with her – causing her to think about something he’d said earlier.
Junior previously told Cindy that he thought her suspicions about the Knight side of the family were unfounded. He suggested she take a closer look at the Beales, remarking that the Knights were not the ones determined to keep her locked away from the world.
This initially caused Cindy to turn on Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) in the market, but her second encounter with Junior made her take a look at another suspect…
Who is The Walford Walloper in EastEnders?
Ahead of EastEnders' 40th Anniversary next month - which will see the reveal of Cindy Beale's attacker - Metro narrows down the key suspects in the case.
- George Knight: Told his family that he was partaking in an illegal underground boxing match, but also later asked his brother Kojo to back up his alibi. Admitted to Gina that he wasn't at the fight.
- Elaine Peacock: Enraged that Cindy still had eyes for her husband, she could've whacked her through jealousy.
- Gina Knight: Was seen exiting the barrel store - where the weapon was hidden - on Christmas night. She also had a fling with Freddie Slater on the evening.
- Anna Knight: Found the shovel in the barrel store and decided to hide it for fears of her family being implicated.
- Kojo Asare: Was previously manipulated by Cindy, and promised George that he would make it up to him for hiding the affair.
- Junior Knight: Planning to flee the area in the immediate aftermath, could he be furious that the affair hit a dead end and ruined his relationship with his father? He also stole the shovel from the Vic roof.
- Ian Beale: Could've been responsible through an angry and jealous rage after the betrayal. He's also welcomed Cindy back into his home... possibly to cover his tracks?
- Kathy Cotton: Lets face it, she's never been Cindy's biggest fan. She'd also do anything for golden boy Ian.
- Lauren Branning: Admitted that she turned over Cindy's body in the immediate aftermath, but her memory of the night is hazy after taking illegal painkillers.
- Peter Beale: Could've attacked his mum over the breakdown in his family, and putting his unborn baby at risk.
- Somebody else?: Big Mo is clearly a Metro reader, as she supported our theory that Bobby Beale could be behind the vicious altercation - despite living in the Cotswolds.

As she walked home and bumped into Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), a row broke out and Cindy confirmed she believed her former mother-in-law was the one who hit her with the shovel.
