Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (February 19) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on at 7pm.
Vicky Grant’s (Anya Lawrence) life was turned upside down after a mysterious blackmailer threatened to expose her affair with Freddie Roscoe (Charlie Clapham).
The character, as viewers know, is currently engaged to Robbie (Charlie Wernham) and is looking forward to a future with him, despite the fact that she’s still seemingly head over heels for Freddie.
But her chances of a happy ending were put at risk when she received text messages from an unrecognised number, with the sender claiming to be Freddie on a new mobile device.
Vicky had no reason to believe that she was communicating with anyone other than Freddie and thus the two proceeded to exchange messages – but things took an unexpected turn when the sender started to blackmail her, threatening to expose her affair if they didn’t receive £5,000.
Horrified, Vicky confronted Freddie, believing him to be the one responsible, but she soon realised that he had no idea what she was talking about.
After a brainwave from Grace Black (Tamara Wall), Vicky turned to fiancé Robbie, claiming that she needed £5,000 for a deposit for her ideal wedding venue.
Delighted to receive the cash, Vicky paid the blackmailer off. Little did she know, however, that the culprit was none other than Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass)!
Dillon, as viewers know, is currently being targeted by Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey). Rex has masqueraded as a confidante for Dillon but in reality he’s preying on his vulnerability as part of an upcoming child exploitation story. R

Rex claimed a bag of money went missing from Dillon’s home during a party and urged him to come up with a way to replace it, hence the blackmailing of Vicky.

The exploitation plot will escalate in the coming weeks, with Dillon and Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) offered a lifestyle they perceive to be glamorous but it will soon come to light that they’ve been lured into a world that is very difficult to escape from as they find themselves subjected to criminal and sexual exploitation.
Vicky, meanwhile, was on cloud nine after successfully managing to stop her secrets from spilling. However, things took quite a turn, which you can see for yourself when you watch the episode.
