Manchester United produced an impressive comeback before surviving a dramatic finale to rescue a 2-2 draw at Everton in the Premier League.
The Toffees continued their impressive form under David Moyes as goals from Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure saw the hosts race into a two-goal lead at half-time.
But United fought back after the break as Bruno Fernandes’ free kick and Manuel Ugarte’s volley brought Ruben Amorim’s side level.
Everton thought they had a chance to snatch a dramatic win at the death when Ashley Young appeared to be fouled inside the area but much to their frustration, the hosts saw the penalty controversially overturned after a VAR check.

Ruben Amorim speaks to TNT Sports
‘I think it was a soft touch from what I saw. I think it was a soft penalty, it was clear. We need to win three points and we need to win the whole game.
‘The worst part is that we are losing the ball without pressure and we are not doing what we need to do. We were soft.
‘In training, we have to continue to do the same. In the second half, we changed nothing. We have to do the same thing but in a good way. We have to improve on creating chances and in this game also we struggle with scoring goals.’
Premier League release statement on penalty decision

Explaining the decision, the Premier League said: ‘VAR checked the referee’s call of penalty to Everton for a challenge by Maguire on Young and deemed that no foul had been committed and recommended an on-field review.
‘The referee overturned the original decision and play restarted with a drop ball.’
