The final sum Comic Relief raised for Red Nose Day 2025 has been revealed.
Tonight’s celebration included The Inbetweeners stars reuniting as Oasis, a Gladiators sketch and a surprise appearance by everyone’s favourite The Traitors icon Linda Rands.
As it kicked off, host Davina McCall told viewers ‘we’re going back to the 1980s’, as Comic Relief is celebrating its 40th year after actor and comedian Sir Lenny Henry and Love Actually screenwriter Richard Curtis co-founded the charity in 1985.
Sir Lenny, who stepped down as host of Red Nose Day last year, also featured in a pre-recorded clip, saying: ‘A lot has changed, and a lot for the better.’
‘I can’t believe Comic Relief is turning the big 4-0. In some ways, it feels like 1985 was, like yesterday,’ he said.

How much did Comic Relief raise on Red Nose Day 2025?
Following a look back on the last 40 years of the charity’s work, and the star-studded challenges and sketches that took place over the last few weeks, the final sum raised was revealed to be more than £32,000,000.
A final sum sent to Metro confirmed the total raised by the end of Friday night stood at £34,022,590.
Included in tonight’s sum was the £1,287,259 raised by Billy Monger for his Ironman World Championship, with host Alison Hammond hailing him a ‘hero’, and the £2,000,000 raised by Jamie Laing, who completed his 150 mile ultramarathon today after five brutal days.

Red Nose Day’s celebration tonight elsewhere included throwback clips from previous years of a Mr Bean sketch and James Corden ‘coaching’ the England football team with David Beckham, Peter Crouch, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and Rio Ferdinand.
Limahl from English pop band Kajagoogoo sang the group’s hit song Too Shy, before Carol Decker, from T’Pau, performed China In Your Hand at the start of the show.
Father-son duo Bradley Walsh and Barney Walsh then introduced the first sketch with comedy character Chabuddy G from sitcom People Just Do Nothing telling the BBC’s Gladiators he was joining them as a new superhuman member of the show called ‘Girth, Wind And Fire’.

The character, played by Asim Chaudhry, managed to win a challenge against Bionic (Matty Campbell) but CCTV confirmed ‘foul play’ and Chabuddy G was banned for life from Gladiators.
Later in the evening, the Strictly Come Dancing professionals including Johannes Radebe, Gorka Marquez and Katya Jones were shocked to discover Rachel Parris and Russell Kane ‘joining’ their line-up.
Miranda Hart narrated the documentary-style comedy clip and later told the amateur dancers that both of their celebrity partners had managed to injure themselves, meaning they would have to exit the series.

The judges and hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly later made an appearance, before the stars performed to Everybody Get Up by Five for the Red Nose Day special.
Elsewhere in the evening, Kris Marshall and Lee Mack joined forces for a sketch, while Munya Chawawa interviewed Succession’s Brian Cox.
Former One Direction star Liam Payne and drag queen The Vivienne were among the celebrities remembered in an in-memoriam-style segment during the evening.
Among the other stars featured in the video montage were singer Cilla Black, TV presenter Caroline Flack, Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, comedian Victoria Wood and presenter Sir Michael Parkinson.
There were also The Wanted star Tom Parker, comedians Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker, Harry Potter star Robbie Coltrane, broadcaster Sir Terry Wogan, music star David Bowie, comedian Paul O’Grady and Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers.
Liam, played by Buckley, and Noel, played by Thomas, were advised to call each other after their managers told them they were broke.
In a highly-anticipated sketch, The Inbetweeners stars James Buckley and Joe Thomas recreated the moment Oasis decided to reunite for a tour.

The feuding Gallagher brothers announced their long-awaited reunion in August 2024 with a worldwide tour taking place this summer.
The actors also recreated ‘that ticket fiasco’, when fans saw ticket prices soar due to the use of dynamic pricing on Ticketmaster.
TV presenter and journalist Piers Morgan played the ‘Ticket Master’ who could be seen meeting the brothers in a dark and spooky castle.
‘Let me reassure you personally, everyone will be treated completely fairly,’ he told them.
How much did they raise last year?
Last year, the total sum raised was £37,019,832.
