Alan Carr was close to being charged by the BBC after his rescue dog Rita destroyed a door.
The 48-year-old comedian has been a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK alongside RuPaul, Michelle Visage and Graham Norton since it launched in 2019.
However, Alan nearly got himself into hot water when bringing his beloved pet to set one day.
After adopting Rita last year, Alan decided to bring her to work with him, but had to leave her in his dressing room while filming scenes for the reality show.
However, Rita became incredibly stressed and started scratching the door in an attempt to escape.
‘At RuPaul’s Drag Race, I took Rita along and I went down to the show and she scratched through the door,’ he revealed during the latest episode of his Life’s A Beach podcast.

‘They said they were gonna charge me for the door because she had chewed up all the bottom.’
However, he managed to get someone to help fix the damage.
‘Someone fixed it for me, but she was anxious – she wanted to see her daddy,’ he continued.
‘She was howling, and I said: “It’s fine, she’ll stop in a minute”.
‘But I came back after an hour, and she was going: “Howl!”.’
This isn’t the first time Rita has caused some mayhem.

Last year he was interviewing Miranda Hart on his podcast when Rita accidentally caused Miranda to spill a cup of hot tea all over herself.

As the two were chatting, Miranda picked up the tea as Alan called out to Rita to jump up to sit with him.
The dog didn’t move, leading Alan to declare ‘she’s deaf’, before they continued talking, however soon after Rita jumped up but onto Miranda’s lap – leading her to spill her tea all down her top and lap.
‘Oh no! Rita’s just thrown a cup of tea over Miranda. Oh my god,’ he exclaimed before Miranda wiped up the mess with a tea towel.
