At first, Kim Tate (Claire King) was happy to have Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) around in Emmerdale, but now that he’s threatening to wreck her family, she wants rid.
Learning of Joe taking advantage of vulnerable Dawn – who only months ago lost her dad – pushed Kim firmly into the anti-Joe camp and she began looking for ways to get him out of their lives.
Not an easy task, he’s well embedded, but Kim loves a challenge. Especially when it comes to protecting her family, which is disintegrating before her eyes.
She’s now employed Ross (Mike Parr) as her head of security after he promised to take any opportunity to bring down Joe.
Because of Dawn’s (Olivia Bromley) preoccupation with the Tate lad, Billy (Jay Kontzle) started feeling mightily rejected and turned his attentions to messaging women online, one being the unwitting Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker), who had posted risqué photos of herself on a website.
Billy confessed this to his wife, and was surprised that Dawn took it oddly well. She in turn confessed she also felt things were off in their marriage, but failed to elaborate further on her own full blown affair.

And instead of stopping her, Billy’s confession only spurred her on in pursuing sex with Joe. She’s now even gone as far as suggesting a risky night away in a hotel.
Kim found out about Dawn’s infidelity and has been determined ever since to get Dawn to see sense about what a wrong’un Joe is.

Billy feels so awful about his texting antics – with no idea just how terrible his wife has been – and he’s determined to fix everything. This leaves Dawn feeling guilty for once and in a quandary.
Kim decides to involve herself in this latest situation and pulls her next big move – she orchestrates it so that Dawn and Billy are forced to spend some time alone together.
Will Kim’s move do the trick, or will Dawn’s guilt push her into confessing and ruining her family?
