A woman who was dining at an Italian restaurant in Liverpool is ‘shaken’ after she was sexually assaulted by a man.
The woman, in her 70s, alerted police to the incident at Botanico, on Allerton Road in Woolton, at around 1 pm on Wednesday, March 19.
The woman said she had been touched inappropriately and kissed by the unknown man.
Now, CCTV images of a person police believe may have information that could assist with their investigation have been released.
Detective Mike Fletcher said: ‘We take reports of sexual offences very seriously and we are very keen to speak with the person featured in the images to help with our enquiries.
‘This was a traumatic experience for the victim which left her shaken. We are working hard to ensure that the person responsible is identified.
‘We hope this man can come forward to assist with our enquiries or that others may recognise him and provide this information to the police.
‘We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.’

The victim was approached from behind by a stranger in the Priory Meadow area of Hastings, East Sussex at around 2.15pm on February 12.
The man then ‘sexually assaulted her by touching’, Sussex Police said. The victim was left shaken by the incident, said police, and received support from specially-trained officers.
