Macy Gray has reportedly exited Celebrity Big Brother at the eleventh hour after her abrupt departure from The Masked Singer UK.
Three months after she stormed off the stage on the ITV show, the I Try singer, 57, is said to have pulled out of talks to enter the Big Brother house.
It was claimed that Macy had been ‘keen to rewrite her narrative’ on the reality TV show, but ultimately had second thoughts.
If she had signed on the dotted line, she could have joined the likes of Patsy Palmer and Chesney Hawkes, who are rumoured for the 2025 line-up.
A source told The Sun: ‘Macy’s fury at being voted out as Toad In The Hole earlier this year was such a talking point, and bosses thought she would also make a great housemate.
‘She’d seemed keen to rewrite her narrative after The Masked Singer drama but in the end decided not to go ahead.’

In response to the claims, a spokesperson from ITV told Metro: ‘Any names suggested for Celebrity Big Brother are purely speculation.’
On The Masked Singer, Macy had performed as Toad in the Hole before becoming the third celebrity to be unmasked.
But as soon as she was revealed, she stormed off the stage and down the tunnel, leaving everyone wondering if she would return for one final song.
The Why Didn’t You Call Me popstar, however, did come back, but it made for awkward viewing as she gave very short answers when quizzed on her clues.
When asked by presenter Joel Dommett whether she’d ‘had fun on the show’, Macy simply replied: ‘Yeah.’

Reacting to her big reveal, fans of the show took to X, obsessed with how Macy appeared ‘fuming’ that she had been eliminated.
‘Obsessed with Macy Gray being fuming about getting voted off… it’s about time we had a bit of drama on this show’, wrote BRATTYBARBl.
ToniRyan1 added: ‘Macy Gray almost in tears raging at being voted off the masked singer while dressed as a toad in the hole is just peak British tv’.
It’s not the first time Macy made an iconic exit from The Masked Singer.
In 2021, she competed in the Australian version of the singing competition series and was said to have ‘refused’ to leave.
According to The Masked Singer Australia judge Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes, Macy kicked up a bit of a fuss when it was her time to leave resulting in an awkward stand-off with producers.

‘Macy Gray had such passion for The Masked Singer that when she was told that she had to leave the show, which you saw last night, she refused to leave the show,’ the comedian previously told 2Day FM’s Morning Crew.
‘She said, “No, I’m continuing in the show,” and there had to be a discussion which went for quite a while as to, “No, you have to leave.” She said, “No, I’m not leaving.”
‘The thing is, we can’t do the end of the show unless the head comes off.’
The radio show’s co-host Ed Kavalee added: ‘So, she still had the head on, and they’re saying, “Hey, Macy-slash-Atlantis, we need you to take the head off so you can go.”

After a lot of convincing, Hughesy said Macy eventually agreed to leave The Masked Singer Australia.
