Black Mirror fans are raving about a gut-wrenching episode in the latest series of Charlie Brooker’s sci-fi anthology.
The seventh season of the hit Netflix show dropped on Thursday and features the likes of Peter Capaldi, Chris O’Dowd, Paul Giamatti and Awkwafina.
And grabbing the attention of fans is the third episode, titled Hotel Reverie, which is directed by Haolu Wang.
Starring Nosferatu’s Emma Corrin and Issa Rae, it takes a look at the influence of artificial intelligence in today’s world as a Hollywood star takes part in a remake of a vintage film.

She has to attempt to stick to the script if she ever wants to make it home, but misses a cue and creates a major plothole.
In true Charlie Brooker-style, the end of the episode isn’t all rainbows and sunshine, with the movie storyline deviating from the original and a fatal tragedy.
Commenting on Reddit, RphWrites said the episode was ‘so, so good’ before adding: ‘I needed that after Common People.’
Spicychickenmcdo also revealed: ‘Bawled my eyes out.’
Illustrious-Ad-134 commented: ‘Omg literally my new favourite episode.’
Meanwhile, gg136 said: ‘Coming here after finishing the episode- oh my god I feel like I’ve been shot?’
Natural_Midnight_591 pointed out that: ‘Emma corrin was so good in this ep.’
Sexyscyther added: ‘I cried my eyes out, my god. Hotel reverie was so good.’
Another fan, Novel_Cow_1060, noted the link to Black Mirror’s former episode San Junipero, writing: ‘And her address at the end on junipero drive… this episode wrecked me.’
This comes after Black Mirror fans declared that a ‘haunting’ new episode was one of the best ever.
Common People, starring O’Dowd and Rashida Jones, follows schoolteacher Amanda fighting for her life as her desperate husband Mike signs her up for Rivermind, a high-tech system that will keep her alive – but at a cost.
Commenting on X, @purpminded420 said: ‘Common People ended up being one of the saddest and best episodes of the series #BlackMirror.’
