Marcel Desailly has urged Joao Felix to leave Chelsea after failing to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
Felix is currently playing for AC Milan after joining the Serie A side on loan during the January transfer window.
Milan are under no obligation to sign the 25-year-old on a permanent transfer and are not expected to enter into talks with Chelsea following the Portuguese’s struggles in Italy.
Desailly believes ‘great talent’ Felix is still looking for ‘his place’ having struggled for game-time at Chelsea.
The Blues spent £45m to sign Felix from Atletico Madrid last summer but were happy to offload him less than six months later after he started just three Premier League games.

Felix was once viewed as one of the most exciting talents in the world but his career is threatening to stagnate following underwhelming stints in west London and now Milan.
World Cup winner Desailly fears Felix lacks the ‘character’ to be one of the best players in the world and says he should be looking to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Despite his doubts over Felix, Desailly believes a chance of scenery could help Felix rediscover his top form and has named Paris Saint-Germain as a possible destination for the 25-year-old.
‘Joao Felix is a player with great talent, but he has still not found his place,’ Desailly told Milan Presse.
‘He’s been at Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, now Milan, without making any real impact.
‘At this moment of his career, he needs a club with a clear philosophy that can build its project around him, put him at ease to express his potential that we still haven’t really seen. I would suggest Paris Saint-Germain.
‘What Joao Felix lacks is not technique, but character. He is not a leader. At this moment, he is not what Milan need, because he lacks the mental strength to revive the Rossoneri. And vice versa.’
PSG are enjoying a superb season under Luis Enrique, recently securing the French league title and going well in the Champions League.
Felix’s current club, AC Milan, have slipped to ninth in Serie A, winning less than half of their league games this season.
‘I am disappointed, as Milan are today a mix of many different problems,’ Desailly added to Sky Sport Italia.
‘The season started badly, then there was a moment where they thought it was turning around, but everyone quickly realised this team lacks the leadership to be competitive.
‘All the sides ahead of them in the Serie A table have a very clear philosophy. Just look at Inter, who for years have assimilated the 3-5-2 system and now play by heart.

‘I don’t think Milan have less individual talent than Inter, but they lack chemistry.
‘I don’t think it’s an individual problem, because Milan have many good players who unfortunately just don’t complete each other.
‘You see Rafael Leao, Tammy Abraham, Christian Pulisic, Santiago Gimenez, Tijjani Reijnders. All have quality, but no real leader, nobody who stands out. This is what Milan need.’
Felix’s parent club Chelsea return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon against relegation-battlers Ipswich Town.
